Acer palmatum 'Starry Skies' is a distinctive upright Japanese maple with small, beautifully variegated leaves in shades of green, white, and pink. The foliage features a green center surrounded by bright white margins, with new growth accented by delicate pink tips. In fall, the foliage transforms into brilliant shades of red. A new Higasayama-type seedling cultivated at Buchholz Nursery by Talon Buchholz, 'Starry Skies' was first propagated in 2021 and named in 2023. Its unique variegation and compact form make it an excellent choice for collectors and smaller landscapes.
