Acer palmatum 'Heartbeat' is a compact, weeping Japanese maple with finely dissected foliage and an elegant, graceful form. New leaves emerge bright reddish-red in spring before maturing to rich bronze-red tones through summer. In autumn, the foliage develops into an exceptional display of brilliant red, which inspired the name 'Heartbeat.' Introduced into the nursery trade by Elliot Groves of New Zealand, this slow-growing maple is an excellent choice for containers, small landscapes, and collector gardens.
