Acer palmatum 'Sir Damon', is a newer coral bark selection with much brighter red new growth and much deeper red older growth. In the spring and summer, the green leaves edged with a subtle blush contrast nicely with the bright red bark, and in the fall, the leaves change to a bright yellow. 'Sir Damon' was found at Crispin's Creations Nursery and named after Crispin's son, Damon. Its vivid, rich red stems retain their brilliant color longer than standard varieties. A wonderful choice for any garden with its true four-season standout.
