Acer palmatum 'Black Lace', is an upright deciduous tree with a broad canopy at maturity. Deeply-dissected, rich maroon-red new growth leaves have bright red veins that will hold its color through summer if given the correct amount of sun. Because of how dark the leaf color is it will contrast well and standout in most gardens. During the fall the foliage turns to a bright fiery red.
