Acer oliverianum 'Hot Blonde', also known as a Golden Japanese Maple, is a fast-growing upright deciduous tree resulting as a cross of the Chinese Acer oliverianum with the Japanese Acer palmatum. The leaves are a gorgeous golden yellow with an orange border in the spring which get more and more yellow as the season goes on. The fall color is an intense fiery red. This tree is incredibly heat tolerant making it a wonderful specimen for southern gardens. This cultivar must be propagated by grafting onto Acer palmatum.
