Ilex crenata 'Lemon Gem' is a charming, slow-growing evergreen shrub with a low, compact form. Tiny, rounded leaves emerge soft yellow before gradually maturing to green, creating a subtle contrast between new and older foliage. For the best and brightest color, 'Lemon Gem' should be grown in full sun and well-drained soil. Its naturally small size makes it especially useful in containers, rock gardens, Japanese gardens, and other intimate garden spaces.
