'Kaga kujaku' is one of these selections. This Japanese maple was selected from the wild as a seedling from yama-momiji. The original Japanese maple tree resides in a well-known garden in the Ishikawa Prefecture of Japan. In the spring leaves emerge large  and heavily divided with bright pink-red coloring. The leaves turn to a rich green by early summer. Mid-summer flushes return to a bright pink-red growth making a beautiful contrast with the deep green background.
